This was a typical outdated master bathroom with old cultured marble, cabinetry, lighting, and fixtures. This homeowner desperately wanted to upgrade her 90’s track home bathroom while staying on a budget. We love working with clients who are looking to remodel their bathroom on a budget and work diligently to help them find the best way to achieve this.
First, she was able to save money by utilizing the existing flooring that was replaced 5 years earlier. This was a great place to cut $1,200 out of her remodel. Tile flooring can be expensive and time consuming to install.
The largest section of this bathroom remodel was combining the shower and bathtub into a large shower area. The homeowner didn’t use her bathtub, so it only made sense to remove it to make the entire space a large walk-in shower. Not only is access easier, this new shower feels very luxurious and is enjoyable to use. Because this is such a large space, we suggested installing “Granitex” instead of tile to reduce costs. Granitex is a high quality good looking waterproof material that is a quicker install than the tedious detail work needed from a tile craftsman.
To make this new larger shower easier to use, we moved the plumbing to the new pony wall so the homeowners can easily turn the shower on without having to step into the wet area. A new two head personal shower head was added which is a nice upgrade that is also user-friendly.
The old cabinetry was cheap builder grade, and outdated. We replaced them with high-quality painted cabinets. The homeowners chose a beautiful piece of stone from our stone fabricator’s remnant yard which also saved $$$ and cut significant costs from her bathroom remodeling budget. A natural stone countertop is perfect way to give that special upgraded touch to a master bathroom.
Last, but not least, we updated the outdated light fixtures above the vanity, replaced the plumbing fixtures, and added a fresh coat of paint throughout the space. The end result is an upgraded, relaxing master bathroom that was remodeled on a budget.
