These homeowners moved from New York to Scottsdale years ago, were now ready to remodel, and were looking for a contractor who they could trust. They found Roadrunner on the McCormick Ranch neighborhood website and appreciated the positive reviews we have received over the many years from homeowners in McCormick Ranch.
We spoke over the phone at length and discussed their desire to remodel their master bathroom. We provided them with a very detailed proposal and 35 current references to review and call. We are proud of the glowing reviews from these previous customers and are happy to share these contacts with inquiring new customers.
Their home was constructed in the 70’s, and in desperate need of an upgrade. We gutted their 30+ year old bathroom and started from scratch. We made modifications to the shower by removing a couple of odd plastic windows (probably something in the 70’s) to give it a complete facelift. We kept things simple and affordable by keeping the existing footprint of the bathroom intact. The space was already maximized with the existing layout and we focused on giving it a contemporary upgrade.
The flooring we installed was rectangle 12″x24″ (very popular now) in a dense porcelain material. Porcelain is a tough surface that is low maintenance and long lasting. It’s ideal for homeowners looking for something durable and easy to clean. Grey is a current popular color for a contemporary style that matches most decor and is excellent for resale purposes.
A solid surface material for the shower was chosen to maximize their budget and provide very low maintenance. A tile shower installation can increase the expense of a bathroom remodel considerably because of the expert craftsmen needed to install the tile one piece at a time. We encourage anyone looking to decrease bathroom remodeling costs to go with the more affordable solid surface finish in the shower. Not only is it less expensive, it is easier to maintain. The brushed nickel bathroom fixtures that were chosen by the homeowners are easy to keep clean and will stay in style for many years to come.
Quality dark espresso shaker cabinetry was installed to replace the old outdated cabinets. These cabinets have modern features like soft closing doors and drawers and solid wood construction. The contrast in colors of the dark wood cabinets and grey flooring all came together with the beautiful granite countertops professionally fabricated and installed. The homeowner splurged on the countertops – a great place to add a luxurious touch to a simple and affordable bathroom remodel.
This bathroom also has a lovely vanity area opposite from the double sinks that wasn’t being used to its full potential. We added new cabinetry with drawers and a clothes hamper underneath to this area to optimize storage space. In addition to the bathroom cabinets, we installed tall linen closet cabinetry to replace their old linen cabinets. It was a challenge for us to fit this odd sized opening, but the experts at Roadrunner Custom Remodeling solved this issue and installed beautiful cabinets.
These homeowners were also frustrated that their master bathroom had an open concept with their bedroom. We solved this problem by adding 18″ French doors to add privacy without taking up too much space. Many customers request pocket doors, however this can be expensive, not to mention they are difficult to maintain. These small French doors are a preferred solution for creating privacy in a master bathroom, while maximizing space.
This bathroom remodel was quite an improvement for these homeowners. They now have privacy, a larger shower space, an updated contemporary style, a luxury master bathroom to enjoy; and when they are looking to sell their home, the value of this master bath will speak for itself.
Kind words from the homeowner: “Great total bathroom remodel in our home! In and out in 3 weeks!”
