Sunken Bathtub converted to a Beautiful Shower – 47

This Fountain Hills homeowner was fed up with her outdated master bathroom tub/shower. The previous homeowners had modified this tub/shower into a very strange and dangerous tiled sunken tub/shower. In addition to the slippery sloped bathtub, her countertops were in need of an upgrade to bring this bathroom into this decade.

We filled in the sunken tub with concrete to create a “Flush Floor” shower. It was quite a project demolishing the old tub/shower because the previous owner had tiled right over the original shower/tub tile instead of tearing it out. This is a perfect example of why it’s important to do your homework before hiring a remodeling contractor so you aren’t stuck with major remodeling issues in the future.

Once the demo was completed, we installed a Granitex shower system with a unique tile deco band decorative touch that brings the whole bathroom together. We added a corner seat and a grab bar for functionality, along with the magnetic docking detachable shower head that has become very popular among our clients this year.

This shower is quite a bit larger than a standard shower and is the largest “wet area” Granitex shower we have ever completed. Because of the size, Granitex was a perfect choice to cut costs and create a low-maintenance shower. Now that this shower conversion is complete, this homeowner have a shower that is accessible for those with mobility issues and is perfect for retirees. We enclosed the shower with a glass stationary panel to make it easy for entering and exiting the space without having to manage a slider or hinged shower door.

In addition to the shower conversion, we also replaced the countertops in all her bathrooms to bring the entire home together with a professional finish these homeowners can be proud of.

If you are ready to convert your badly designed or unused master bathtub into a functional and well-designed standing shower, please contact us to schedule a free consultation. We can show you several examples of bathrooms we have upgraded for homeowners in Fountain Hills and Scottsdale.
